Randy Romero conectó tres hits, produjo dos carreras y se robó dos bases, mientras que Vidal Sotelo hizo un hermético relevo de dos innings, para guiar este jueves a los Mariachis de Guadalajara a una victoria por 10-5 sobre los Acereros de Monclova en el Estadio Panamericano Beekon.
El dominicano Xavier Batista y Carlos Rodríguez colaboraron en el triunfo, al disparar jonrones que enfilaron a los Mariachis al triunfo, para llevarse la serie 2-1 y mejorar su récord a 11-13.
Para los Acereros, la derrota significó quedarse solos en el sótano de la Zona Norte, con 10-14.
Los monclovenses habían aprovechado un inicio incierto del abridor de los tapatíos, Amilcar Gaxiola, y se fueron arriba 3-0.
Carlos Figueroa recibió base por bolas y avanzó a la antesala tras una mala revirada de Gaxiola a la inicial; Edson García conectó sencillo productor al jardín central y tras un out, Steven Moya descargó cuadrangular por el prado derecho.
Sin embargo, Guadalajara respondió con un ataque de cinco anotaciones en el cierre del segundo episodio, ante la serpentina de Francisco Ríos (1-3).
Batista fue caminado, Rusney Castillo empalmó doblete al bosque izquierdo y Josh Rodríguez roleteó al pitcher para el primer out, pero empujó una carrera.
Fernando Pérez siguió con doblete al central, para remolcar a Castillo y Carlos Rodríguez recibió pasaporte; Brayan Quintero sacó rodado a la inicial, para el segundo out y avanzó a los corredores una base.
El ataque continuó cuando Romero pegó sencillo al jardín central para producir dos carreras… En la misma jugada, Romero aprovechó para irse a la intermedia, luego se robó la antesala y anotó después de un mal tiro del catcher a tercera base.
En el tercer episodio, la “Furia Azul” se acercó 5-4, sin embargo los locales ampliaron la delantera a 7-4 en el cierre del mismo acto, gracias a un jonrón solitario de Batista por el central y aprovechando un error del primera base Steven Moya, tras una rola por la antesala de Fernando Pérez.
La batalla de toma y daca continuó en el cuarto rollo cuando los Mariachis se despegaron 8-4, los Acereros se acercaron 8-5 en el quinto, pero en el cierre del mismo episodio, ya con dos outs, Carlos Rodríguez se voló la barda del prado izquierdo con un compañero a bordo y puso las cosas 10-5 en favor de los “músicos”.
En la victoria de Guadalajara, fue crucial el buen relevo de Sotelo, quien permitió un hit y una carrera en dos entradas, con dos ponches, para conseguir su primera victoria en la Liga Mexicana de Beisbol, a sus 20 años.
También sobresalieron en el montículo por los ganadores Andrés Meza, Carlos Vázquez, Esteban Haro y Jonathan Aro, pues entre los cuatro no permitieron anotación en cuatro capítulos y un tercio.
Los Mariachis continuarán este viernes en el inmueble de Zapopan y a partir de las 19:30 horas recibirán al Águila de Veracruz. Los pitchers anunciados son Néstor Anguamea (0-0) por los locales y David Reyes (2-3) por los jarochos.
